Jersey Lavender Farm

Continuing a long tradition of perfumery in Jersey, the Christie family first planted lavender on the Island in 1983. It now extends to nine acres with more than 80 varieties grown...

In brief

Although there has long been a tradition of perfumery in Jersey, this is the very first time that an aromatic crop has been grown and distilled in the Island and the essence used to develop a range of fragrant products.

In times past there used to be intense rivalry between English and French lavender growers, both claiming the highest quality of essential oil. So it is not surprising that some of the sweetest and finest is grown here in Jersey’s gentle climate.

The distillery and bottling rooms are open every summer enabling visitors to view the process from crop to finished product. A range of products made on the farm is available in the shop and there is a tea room with al fresco seating looking out onto the gardens.
