Hamptonne Country Life

La Rue de la Patente, St. Lawrence
Tel. 01534 863955
This collection of farm buildings and meadows takes its name from the Hamptonne family who bought the property in 1633. Laurens Hamptonne proclaimed Charles II king in the Market Place in St. Helier in February 1649. History is brought alive by talkative characters from the past, with demonstrations of by-gone skills and guided tours. Free parking. Open daily from 2nd April until 5th November (10am to 5pm).

Jersey Museum

The Weighbridge, St. Helier
Tel. 01534 633300
This award-winning local museum combines modern interactive displays with exhibits that tell the story of Jersey’s long and varied past. Special exhibitions are held throughout the year and the adjoining café/bar has an outdoor seating area serving lunch and drinks all day. Open all year round.

Maritime Museum

New North Quay, St. Helier
Tel. 01534 811043
The museum has attracted widespread acclaim for its emphasis on ‘learning through doing’ – visitors are not only allowed to touch the exhibits they are encouraged to. With the story telling giant whelk (take our word for it!) children will enjoy the experience as much as adults. Open all year round.
